ALBANY, May 2nd– Umbrella of Colonie hosted the 7th Annual Home Maintenance Fair on Thursday, April 27th at the Beltrone Living Center to provide a showcase of local services available to senior homeowners. Over 150 seniors attended to learn more about the resources available to help seniors age in their own home.
Colonie Senior Service Centers (CSSC), the parent organization of Umbrella of Colonie, provides quality programs and services for seniors in Colonie. Umbrella of Colonie connects senior homeowners to a wide variety of services that help them to remain in their own homes longer and safer. Such services include home and personal care, banking services, lawn care, cleaning, shopping and more all at Umbrella negotiated discounted pricing. Umbrella also gives members a sense of security by using reliable, trustworthy and affordable services and handy people.
Many local organizations and businesses were invited to the Home Maintenance Fair to inform attendees and promote their services. These exhibitors include Albany County New York Connects, Colonie EMS, Cornell Cooperative Extension, St. Peters Health Partners, National Grid, NYS Public Service Commission, SM Home Inspection, Better Homes Real Estate, CAP COM Federal Credit Union, Crisafulli Brothers Plumbing and Heating Contractors, Habitat Re-Store, Honest Weight Food Co-Op, Interim Healthcare, Long Energy, Mabey’s Moving and Storage, Organize Senior Moves, Renewal by Andersen of Eastern New York, Skyview Landscapes, Town of Colonie Senior Resource Department, and Colonie Senior Service Centers’ programs and services including the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Capital Region, Transportation Services and the Tool Box.
