SUMMARY:Croquet Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Be part of the fun! Join Colonie Senior Service Centers\, Inc. at our 2nd Annual Croquet Tournament on Friday\, September 13\, 2019\, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rain date is September 20\, 2019. \nCroquet can be played by two\, four or six players. The object of the game is to hit your ball(s) through the course of six hoops in the right sequence in each direction and finish by hitting them against the last peg. \nThis is a fun-filled day beginning with lunch and a “learn to play” demonstration at The Crossings Park next to the maze\, with the tournament to follow. A Tournament Celebration will be held with food\, refreshments\, and entertainment following tournament play. \nParticipants are encouraged to wear white attire. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Team and for the Tournament\nWinner. \nProceeds from this event will benefit CSSC’s Bright Horizons Adult Day Services Program. SUMMARY:Veterans Recognition Lunch
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, November 5\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, CSSC is proud to recognize all veterans at our annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon to be held at The Beltrone Living Center. All veterans are invited to attend (at no charge) and to bring a guest\, if they wish. Non-veterans are asked to make a suggested donation of $5. \nThe luncheon will feature music by the Tri-County Banjo Band; harmonica player Roland “Bud” Abare\, a Vietnam Veteran; and Rafi\, “The Singing Jeweler.” Additionally\, members of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520\, representatives of the New York State Military and Naval Affairs\, and Albany High School’s JROTC program will take part in the brief ceremony. The lunch menu is Philadelphia Steak Sandwich with Peppers and Onions\, Green Beans\, Fruit Cup\, and Red\, White and Blue Cupcakes. A vegetarian option is available.
