Join Diane Conroy-LaCivita as she travels to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in downtown Watervliet.  \nSt. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church is a magnificent church building established in 1906. It displays the Romanesque style of architecture designed by noted architects Bernhardt and Noack. Located at the junction of 4th Avenue and 24th Street\, the church has a stunning architecture and speaks only of grandeur. The splendid design and intricate details are proof of the golden era to which it belonged.  \nThe CSSC shuttle bus will leave The Beltrone Living Center at 10:00 a.m. and return at approximately 12 noon. SUMMARY:April Community Concert
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, April 29th from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for our second monthly community concert in a four-part series entitled World Concert Series – Music for the Ages. \nFritz’s Polka Band (FPB) was formed in 1978. From Verona\, NY\, Fritz’s Polka Band is NOT an oompa pa band or the stereotypical “polka” band. In fact\, FPB is known for breaking the stereotype regarding “polka” music. FPB is the first polka band to perform at a Woodstock Festival (Woodstock ’99)! Fritz’s Polka Band has made 19 recordings\, which have achieved international airplay.  \nBand Members:\nFritz Scherz – piano accordion\, button-box accordion\, vocals\nGabe Vaccaro – bass guitar\, guitar\, vocals\nFrank Nelson – guitar\, bass guitar\, vocals\nTim Quinn – drums & vocals \nThis event is possible with the generous support from the New York State Council for the Arts. Weather permitting\, the concert will be held in the south-end gazebo/lawn at The Beltrone Living Center. If prohibited by weather\, concerts will be moved to The Beltrone’s Lakeview Room. \nThis event will be open to the public free of charge and will have ethnic food available for purchase as well. CSSC will also make available free tabling opportunities for groups/clubs associated with that group. Our goal is to create a safe\, festive\, welcoming venue that individuals can appreciate live local musical talent. \nPlease note: proof of COVID vaccination and mask will be required. For questions or additional information\, please call Louis at 518-45-2857 ext. 340.
