Colonie Senior Spirit Awards to be Presented at the Founders’ Celebration Luncheon

This year, Colonie Senior Service Centers will honor business and community leaders at the 18^th Annual Founders’ Celebration with the Colonie Senior Spirit Award for their contribution to the local senior community as they honor the values and community spirit of our founders. The 18^th Annual Founders’ Celebration Luncheon will take place at 11:30 am, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in the Lakeview Room at The Beltrone Living Center, located at 6 Winners Circle in Albany.

We are proud to announce the 2019 Colonie Senior Spirit Awardees:

Andy Vosburgh Auto Repair will receive the Fred G. Field Transportation Colonie Senior Spirit Award for their efforts to promote independence and self-reliance for seniors by developing and expanding senior transportation options. 

The Sisters of St. Joseph – Sisters of St. Joseph’s Provincial House will receive the Ann Marie Sheehy Bright Horizons Colonie Senior Spirit Award. This is being presented for their commitment and achievement in providing and enhancing access to adult day services and caregiver support for seniors and their families.

Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan and the Town Board will receive the Joseph R. Simon Senior Housing Colonie Spirit Award for their vision and leadership in developing housing options for seniors. 

The Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining Colonie Senior Spirit Award will be presented to Blanchard Kenney, General Manager of Prime Life at The Beltrone, for his dedication and efforts to help seniors maintain their health through good nutrition. 

Dr. Kevin Costello, from Albany Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Group, will be presented with the Marion T. Lamar Health & Wellness Colonie Senior Spirit Award. He receives this honor for his commitment and dedication in developing opportunities for seniors to maintain and enhance their physical and intellectual talents.

The Mary E. Brizzell Building a Senior Community Colonie Senior Spirit Award will be awarded to Stefanie Goldstein and the Goldstein Auto Group to recognize their efforts to identify and strengthen the existing network of services for seniors and their families.
